Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a professionally managed charitable investment account that you contribute to, and then direct gifts out of to qualified nonprofit organizations. The Dialogue Foundation is one such qualified nonprofit organization. DAFs are a popular and effective vehicle for charitable donations. We can provide
more information about setting up and using a DAF.You will need the following information to direct a gift from your DAF to Dialogue:

Stock and other securities
Donating appreciated marketable securities is an easy and tax-effective way to make a gift to Dialogue. You may be able to claim a charitable deduction for the full value of the security while avoiding any tax on the appreciation.
NOTE: Tax consequences depend on your personal or family tax situation, but in all events avoiding tax on appreciation is only possible with a direct gift of stock. Consult your tax advisor before you consider selling stock. Before initiating a stock transfer, contact us:
[email protected]We will provide you with transfer information, and we will ask for the name of your brokerage house, the account name and number, and the DTC number, so we can identify the transfer and acknowledge your gift.

IRA Distribution
If you are 70 1⁄2 years old or older, you can give up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as Dialogue without having to pay income taxes on the money. If you are married, and if you and your spouse are both over 70 1⁄2, you may each give up to $100,000. In addition, if you are 72 years old or older and required to make a minimum distribution from your IRA, a transfer to a qualified charity can satisfy the minimum distribution requirement.
NOTE: This short description is not intended as tax advice to any individual. The mechanics of making a gift from an IRA can be very simple. However, the tax consequences are technical and can be complicated. Please consult with your tax advisor.

Planned gifts
A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make. With the help of an attorney, you can include language in your will or trust specifying that a gift be made to Dialogue (either a gift of a percentage of your estate or a specific dollar amount), or you can make a bequest using a beneficiary designation form.
You can also designate Dialogue as a full, partial, or contingent beneficiary of your retirement account (IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or pension), and designating Dialogue as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. If you have been so generous as to include a bequest to Dialogue as part of your estate plan, please let us know. We would like to recognize you and your family for your generosity.
For your convenience, we provide sample bequest language here:
I give to the DIALOGUE FOUNDATION, a Utah nonprofit corporation, the sum of ___ dollars ($ ___ ) OR ___ percent (___%) of the residue of my estate to be used in such manner as its Board of Directors may direct.
