Dialogue Gospel Study with James Faulconer on March 9th

James Faulconer was raised as an Army dependent in the US, Europe, and Asia. He served an LDS mission to South Korea. He is married to Janice Allen and they have 4 children and 13 grandchildren. He is a kidney transplant patient and urges people to take part in organ donation if possible.
Faulconer taught at BYU for 47 years as professor of philosophy and, toward the end of his career, also as a senior research fellow at the Maxwell Institute. His PhD is from Pennsylvania State University, where he specialized in contemporary European philosophy. Besides his continuing work in philosophers such as Heidegger, Derrida, Levinas, and Marion, from his graduate student days until the present Faulconer has been interested in reflection on Latter-day Saint scripture. His publications in that regard include Scripture Study: Tools and Suggestions (1999); The Life of Holiness: Notes and Reflections on Romans 1, 5-8 (2012); a series of Made Harder study guides on the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants (2014, 2015); Mosiah: A Short Theological Introduction (2020) ; and Thinking Otherwise: Theological Explorations of Joseph Smith’s Revelations (2020).
