and stands 

proof that matter has now grown 
beyond the spirit’s 
weightlessness

muscles, tissue 
calcium 
age, disuse, disease 

lumps of cancer 
blacken lungs 
squeeze air 
and breath 

and death — that touch 
which separates 
weight from waitlessness 

and spirit soars again 
purified
