BRUCE CHILTON is Bernard Iddings Bell Professor of Religion at Bard Col- lege, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. His The Temple of Jesus (Perm State Press, 1992) deals in greater detail with the topic discussed in "Jesus' Dispute in the Temple and the Origin of the Eucharist." He is the author of many other books, including Beginning New Testament Study (Eerdmans, 1987) and A Galilean Rabbi and His Bible (Glazier, 1984).
