CARRIEANNE SIMONINI DELOACH {[email protected]} received her PhD in history from Rice University. Her dissertation, “Conflicting Loyalties: Mormon Americanization, Sectarianism, and Gender Ideology in Utah’s Spanish- and Philippine-American Wars Experience,” centers Mormon women as agentive subjects in military history. CarrieAnne is currently the executive director of the Mormon History Association and a participant in the Neal A. Maxwell Institute’s Consultation on Latter-day Saint Women in Historical Perspective. Before her career in academia, she served as a Medical Service Corps officer in the United States Army.
