Marian Nelson

MARIAN NELSON was a second vice president in a mortgage banking firm when her desire to be creative overcame her rational thinking and she resigned her position to enroll as an undergraduate student at Bngham Young University. In 1991 she earned a bachelor of arts degree in theatre and film and is now working on a master's in English with an emphasis on creative writing. A version of this essay was delivered at the 1992 Association for Mormon Letters Annual Symposium in Salt Lake City, Utah.
