Gabriel González Núñez’s “A Man Born When He Is Old” takes us to ancient Judea, where Cleopas, a Zealot passionate about liberating his people from Roman rule, encounters Jesus of Nazareth. Expecting a revolutionary ally, Cleopas instead finds himself transformed by Jesus’ teachings, leading to a spiritual awakening that reshapes his life.

Reed Richards’ “Mr. Lind” offers a poignant exploration of mortality, religion, and relationships. The story follows Mr. Lind, who is grappling with aging and the distance growing between him and his sons. As his health declines, he reflects on his choices and faith while contending with Ziner, a practical yet detached presence in his final days.
