Volume 39, No. 3
Fall 2006
The Fall 2006 issue begins with "The Prophet Elias Puzzle" by Samuel Brown, which looks at the doctrine behind the Prophets Elijah and Elias, as well as how Joseph Smith and other former church leaders saw and characterized the two. This is followed by "To Set in Order the House of God: The Search for the Elusive "One Mighty and Strong" by Bill Shepard, looks at how past church leaders viewed the scriptural reference to the "one mighty and strong" as well as how the views differ between the different branch offs of Mormonism. After this is another article about the "one mighty and strong" by Brian C. Hales, specifically looking at the impact John T. Clark and the fundamentalist movement had on the doctrine. Also included in this issue are several works of art, a reflection on forty years of Dialogue, and a wide variety of poetry to choose from.
