Carter is an assistant professor in the department of church history and doctrine at BYU. He became a Latter-day Saint in 1996 while living in French Guyana, in South America. He was born and raised in Haiti, where he served eight months of his mission before he was reassigned to the West Indies Mission. He studied in Bordeaux, France, where he lived for 17 years. On December 11, Sabrina and he celebrated 22 years of marriage. Their four kids are real blessings, even though the little one is the kind that tries everyone’s patience.
