Sherrie Gavin is an author who is passionate about her family, her religious beliefs, and her studies in the fields of history and gender. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history at Southern Utah University, where in her final semester, she accepted an internship in Australia. She now has dual US and Australian citizenships and worked in nonpartisan positions in the past two Australian Federal elections. Her work is published in the Journal of Mormon History, Digger, The Exponent II magazine, and more. She is currently engaged in a PhD at the University of New England wherein she is researching the historical, ethnographic, and sociocultural nature of food and recipes of Mormon Women prior to 1970. She and her spouse, Bruce are the parents of two daughters; the story of the adoption of these daughters, Turning Pink will be published By Common Consent Press later this year.
