We are thrilled to have Roni Jo Draper teach the Dialogue Sunday Gospel Study on Mosiah 7-10 from the “Come Follow Me” manual.
Roni Jo Draper (she/her/hers) is an enrolled member of the Yurok tribe and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was 19. She is a professor at Brigham Young University where she teaches teachers how to create classrooms in which all children, regardless of race, ethnicity, language, social class, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexuality, religion, and ability can grow and thrive. She serves on the executive board of the Global Women’s Studies at BYU and often teaches the introductory course. Her academic work has focused on literacy education, queer pedagogy, and decolonizing educational spaces. Roni Jo is the President of the Board of the ACLU of Utah and gives much of her time to advocate for oppressed people in her community, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and families.
