October 25: Rebecca Roesler on 3 Nephi 27-4 Nephi
Dr. Rebecca Roesler is a Professor of Violin and Music Education at Brigham Young University–Idaho. She received a Ph.D. in Music and Human Learning from the University of Texas at Austin, and Bachelors and Masters degrees from Brigham Young University. Becky has presented her research at conferences for the National Association for Music Education, the American String Teachers Association, and the International Research Symposium on Talent Education, and her articles appear in the Journal of Research in Music Education, Journal of Music Teacher Education, Music Educators Journal, and American String Teacher.Her research investigates the problem-solving process during music teaching and learning, and collaborative problem solving during rehearsal. Additional research interests include motor skill learning, attention, and automaticity. Occasionally she lapses into Mormon Studies topics to add spice to her life. She has presented at the Mormon History Association and Book of Mormon Studies Association, and has published in Dialogue. She taught many wonderful teenagers during (very) early morning seminary in both Austin and Denton, Texas, and enjoys her current ward calling as a Gospel Doctrine teacher.
